Nathan & I took a trip to Wal-Mart today to get some jean needles for the sewing machine. I was excited to see they had them. I also got extra all-purpose needles as I have broken so many from using them on denim. Nathan always trys to take off with my scissors so I decided to buy him a pair of his own. They've got a lion on them! We also got him a pencil case with a zipper and some tic tacs. He was very excited about his presents! Then we stopped at Aldi's and got 3 .99 cent frozen pizzas and a present for Daddy -- tortilla chips for salsa! He loved them!
I did a little bit of sewing after lunch. I was excited to use my jean needles. Of course I broke the needles in by breaking one. At least I have 10 more! I'm still working on blue jean pot holders and I'm making changes and changing the color of thread that I use. Blue will get boring eventually. I want to get yellow thread since most of the jeans I have already have yellow thread on them. I've thougth about patches to liven 'em up a bit, but I'm not gonna get super crazy with all the small details. I just want to make them first, and then we'll see about all the fancy decorations. I did add a thumb grip to the top of the pot holder. We're going to Quincy in the morning so I can get sewing supplies! I'm super excited!!!!
Work was pretty boring. It's never too exciting there. After work I walked to my car but then had to turn around cause I forgot to get my paycheck. Once I got home I sewed for a bit and then put Nate to bed. He wasn't all that thrilled about going to sleep (even tho he did not have a nap today and has been up since about 9:30am). I let him lay in our bed with me for a bit but then put him back in his bed. He cried for a second when I left him, but then he fell asleep. Such a tired little guy!
I'm thankful that Wal-Mart had my jean needles. I hope they continue to stock them because I'm sure I'll be breaking them and will need more!!
